Drama Troupe Takes First Curtain Call In Inaugural Year

For Ellen Coryat, taking on the role as drama director at Creekside High would be a heavy one.
It’s Creekside’s inaugural year. It’s the school’s first drama production. And, though she’s a theater buff, being a drama teacher was something she’d never done before.
Knowing this was an ambitious project, the English teacher wanted the challenge. And after seeing how beautiful the state-of-the-art auditorium was, she couldn’t turn back.
Through the support and collaboration of the administrators and parents, the production and troupe is already a success. It will also set the bar for many other performances to come.
“We also have an army of parents who are helping,” Coryat said.
She also praised Principal Paul Abbatinozzi, saying he has been “an amazing support” and provided leadership to help them reach their goals.
Once the curtain falls tonight and cast members have made their final bows, they will take a breather then get back on the trail.
