Wates goes red for Shelter

On March 7th workers from around the country took part in %26lsquo;Wear Red for Shelter - the colour of the charitys logo, to raise money for Shelters work with thousands of homeless and badly housed families.

The event marks the launch of a new two-year partnership between the organisations, which aims to raise over %26pound;50,000 through fundraising activities such as charity dinners, quizzes and dress down days.

Ian Burnett, managing director for Wates Living Space Group said: We are delighted to announce our two year partnership with Shelter. Our aim is to regenerate the communities where we work and we hope the financial support we are able to contribute to Shelter will go a long way to helping people across England facing housing problems.

Adam Sampson, chief executive of Shelter added: Wates Living Space is committed to building affordable homes and that is what makes this partnership so special since it goes hand in hand with Shelters campaigning for more affordable homes and the building of extra social housing.

The money raised from the activities will go a long way to help Shelter address the housing problems faced by more than 115,000 homeless households across England.
