Housing Corporation Assessments consist of performance summaries in the form of %26#39;traffic lights%26#39; in four key performance areas: viability, governance, management and development (where relevant), and help the Housing Corporation to regulate the housing sector.

The Wrekin Housing Trust received green lights across the board. In the area of governance, the Housing Corporation felt that the Trust was performing particularly well, so took the unusual step of awarding a %26#39;brighter green light%26#39; in recognition of this performance.

Only a small minority of associations is awarded this brighter green light. The Corporation stated that: The governing body gives effective leadership and control, has a wide range of skills and experience and, supported by appropriate governance and executive arrangements, is improving its own performance and that of the organisation.

Bob Floyd, chair of The Wrekin Housing Trust, said: %26quot;To receive all green lights from the Housing Corporation shows that we are up there with the best performing housing associations in the country. It is particularly pleasing that the Corporation recognises the efforts that are being made to ensure excellent levels of governance, probity and integrity at the Trust.%26quot;

Every housing association with more than 250 homes is continuously assessed against the Housing Associations Regulatory Code.
