Young Thespians To Help Break World Record With Saturday Morning Performance

StageCoach Theatre Arts is the largest part-time performing arts school in the world. While that alone could be considered a world record, it’s not good enough for these students and teachers.
In celebration of its 20th anniversary, StageCoach and its 700 schools in the U.S. and abroad will set out to break its own record Saturday, Dec. 6, for largest number of simultaneous performances.
From that point, each school can take a certain amount of liberty with its performance, which tells the story of a character who brings color to the world, but at the expense of his own. It’s only when everyone shares a little of their own color that everyone is happy.
StageCoach Theatre Arts set the Guinness World Record in 1999 when it staged 100 simultaneous performances of “The Rainbow Juggler.” Money raised with that record-breaking event went to UNICEF.
Toy Express has collected and distributed toys to children in need since 1990. Each year the volunteer organization provides gifts to thousands of children in the western suburbs who might not otherwise have a new toy for the holidays.
