Curtain Set To Rise On A New Capital Season

THE Capital yesterday launched a season of theatre heralded as the most exciting yet.
Next year’s theatre season and Soul Food program will feature 11 shows and a vast range of national and international performers.
John Wood, who promises to be one of the major attractions of the year in the play A Stretch of the Imagination, helped launch the season as a special guest.
Mr Wood acknowledged with a wry smile yesterday that Bendigo had been as much of a home as anywhere in the past year.
A hectic period of work encompassing multiple stage shows and an ABC mini series has seen him on the road since his last visit to Bendigo in March.
“The play is very funny, there’s a lot of really good comedy and a lot of stuff that should really appeal to people in regional towns because it’s very much about an old Australian that you very rarely see these days.”
