Copperfield’s Helper Slashed By Giant Fan

THE audience waited with bated breath for illusionist David Copperfield to walk through the spinning blades of a 4m-high industrial fan.
But they soon found themselves watching a far more dramatic event.
Before the magician had the chance to perform his trick, his assistant got caught in the giant whirling blades, ending up with a broken arm and face injuries.
‘Many people assume that the death-defying illusions I do on stage are not dangerous. This unfortunate accident shows that couldn’t be further from the truth, and we’re just thankful that Brandon’s injuries weren’t worse.’
Despite this, executive producer Chris Kenner said that Copperfield will continue to use the trick, in which he walks through the fan blades and then disappears.
