Documentary highlights Comstock architecture

Get a peek at the architectural past of Virginia City when the Nevada Historical Society shows “Behind the T-Shirt Curtain” for free at noon on Monday as part of its High Noon film series.

Among scenes in the film are of the vault of the historic courthouse where the original records were kept, the old jail, Piper’s Opera Hose during its heyday and the story of the pet monkey who allegedly blew up a block of buildings in one of the town’s worst industrial accidents.

Following the video is a presentation and question-and-answer session hosted by Ron James, Nevada historic preservation officer.
