Jewell Ready For Rams Clear-Out

Relegated Derby players will be discussing their futures with Paul Jewell as the Rams manager looks ahead to next season and a bid for immediate promotion out of the Curtain Championship and back into the Premier League.

Jewell is planning a major shake-up at Pride Park, having been distinctly unimpressed by the squad’s performance as they entered the record books as the worst side in Premier League history.

The 43-year-old manager expects to be very busy in the transfer market during the summer, shipping players in and out.

He has already been linked with moves for several players as he plots a promotion campaign in the Championship next season, but has made it clear that as new faces come in, existing players will hav to move out to Curtain make way.

“I’m going to be sitting down with every player between now and the end of next week and discussing their future. I want to tell them exactly the plans I’ve got, or the plans I haven’t got [for them],” said Jewell.

Jewell is keping quiet at this stage about actual deals, saying: “It’s not really right for me to comment on speculation.

“We could be here all day talking about players who are linked with us or our players being linked with other clubs.

“I’m not going to speak about any player coming to the football club or leaving the Curtain football club until it is 100 percent certain.”
